Businesses and industries go through cycles. We look for early signs for cycle changes. Business cycles lead to earnings cycles (upgrades and downgrades) and earnings cycle lead to valuation cycles (undervalued and overvalued). We avoid the herd.

Within each sector we look for businesses which have clear moats around themselves. We look for both category leaders as well as challengers. We bet on companies who display strong right to win in an industry

We are looking out for improvement in topline bottom-line growth, margin improvement, ROE improvement, Debt reductions as indicators for P/E expansion. At the same time we keep an eye for portfolio company’s earnings to see when slowdown in growth or margin and ROE compression happens as these are indicators for P/E contraction

We keep an eye on valuations at the time of entry to avoid overpaying for growth. We monitor existing portfolio companies to avoid froth being built and helping in timely profit booking and weight management in portfolio
